The PR6-XC Race alloy frame with the DT XM180 rear shox is a responsive aggressive race machine.
Special Tubing
The PR6 is made of a special (PR6) 6000 series aluminum designed especially for this frame. Combined with triple butted tubing the result is a very strong, rigid and High Performing frame designed for Speed.
Frame weight Rear travel
16.0" = 2,332g 16" = 105.6mm
17.5" = 2,358g 17.5" = 103.7mm
19.0" = 2,396g 19" = 101.3mm
20.5" = 2,424g 20.5" = 99.8mm
Ride on top technology
By mounting the suspension on the top tube Pronghorn Racing offers a more horizontal and forward distribution of the energy while increasing the stiffness and rigidity of the rear end. It rides like a hard tail uphill and a full suspension when you need it on downhill or technical trails. Pronghorn calls it Ride On Top – there is no energy lost when hammering up steep up hills or technical trails.
The Geek version
The short technical explanation is that the sum of pivot points and the linkage design makes the energy when you pedal work horizontally.
Normally on full suspensions the energy works vertical: Chain is pulling the wheel up while the rider weight and pedal infects the energy downwards making the not wanted pedal bobbing. On the Pronghorn the energy is instead translated horizontally into the seat stay that locks out when riding uphill and only react to the trail and not the riders pedal bob.
The end result is a faster and more efficient suspension design that eliminate the pedal bob.
Pronghorn Racing is a company that is complete in concept, design and riding results. Bucking the standard bike industry designs the engineers at Pronghorn Racing took their suspension knowledge and their passion for riding and turned it into the all new patent pending design- known as A.P.L.S. (anti power loss system).

Air Pressure Guide
Setup Guide for PR6 XC Race Frame
To get the most out of your PR6 XC Race frame, it is imperative that you get the suspension setup right. The setup depends on the weight and riding style of the rider. Bear in mind that your position on the saddle can have an influence on the setup as well. If you sit in a backwards position you need to add more air pressure and if you sit in a more forward position you need to let air out.
We have made some guidelines to help you get properly started. The air pressure decides the “sag” of the suspension. The sag on the PR6 XC frame should be somewhere between 5 and 10mm measured on the shock piston. After using our air pressure guide, you might have to make further adjustments.
Our recommendations for a PR6 XC Race with FOX RP23 setup
The weight of the rider in kilos * 2,19 = air pressure in PSI
+ 5% for a XC-race setup
- 5% for an Enduro/Trail setup
Our recommendations for a PR6 XC Race with DT Swiss XM 180 setup
The weight of the rider in kilos * 1,3 = air pressure in PSI
+ 10% for race-setup
- 10% for an Enduro/Trail setup.
Performance – just the beginning
Exceptional performance is an absolute requirement for all Pronghorn Racing products.
Exceptional specs are essential for achieving this, and our unique Ride On Top design
is one of the ways we tell the cognoscenti what’s going on.
Yes, some things could perhaps be a wee bit lighter, for example. But weight reductions
can mean a trade-off with other key performance criteria that are even more important.
The crucial thing is getting the best performance.
Hammered and bashed
Once they’re EN approved, we send all Pronghorn Racing products to independent, specialist
testing centres that really know how to hammer mountain bike parts.
We’ve also got pro competitors as well as top-notch non-pros and intensely critical
magazine review experts push¬ing our products to the limit, and then reporting back.
Happy riding, Pronghorn Racing
